Instagram, itself, does not support the Android share feature. Instagram allows you to save a photograph to their server, and upload it to Twitter, Facebook, FourSquare, or Tumblr. Since many mobile devices have limited memory resources, it is better to have more smaller apps that perform a limited number of functions, than one large app that tries to do everything. For example, you can share a photograph from the Gallery app to the Skitch app, and then to Pixlr-o-matic, and then share it to Instagram. Thus, one app can share its output to another app. The Android share feature means share between apps, and not to social networks. However, you can use the Gallery, or camera app, to crop a photograph and then share it to Pixlr-o-matic. Pixlr-o-matic does lack the ability to crop and rotate a photograph, which Instagram does support. If you don’t like one element of a random combination, you can change it. Plus, there is always the random button in the upper right-hand corner that generates different random combinations of effects, lighting, and frames. With over 2 million possible combinations, you can experiment until you find the perfect combination. Since there are three separate layers, you can go back to any layer and change it to see the resulting effect. The default border collection contains 30 borders, with 163 additional borders contained in 8 collections. Pixlr-o-matic treats borders as a separate overlay. Instagram has three effects that contain borders. For example, the Paper collection contains 20 overlays that simulate the looks of different types of photographic paper. Where Instragram has two brightness levels, Pixlr-o-matic has 30 default lighting overlays, with another 257 installable overlays divided into 16 collections. You just select the collections that you wish to use. Pixlr-o-matic divides the 84 effects into 18 collections. Pixlr-o-matic starts with 25 default effects, with the ability to install another 59 effects (all effects are free). With Instagram, you are limited to 20 different effects. Instagram requires a square format, while Pixlr-o-matic give you the choice between original, or square format. From this point on, the differences are dramatic.
