It’s unfortunate because they even had a huge “release party” in South Korea earlier in May 2019 with many members from the Japanese side of the production, including Square Enix Producer Yoshinari Fujimoto, Yoko Taro, and two members from Pokelabo, Shogo Maeda and Lead Creative Planner, Ryoki Matsuo. There has been no further word regarding the status since the Jpost by NEXON on the SinoAlice Facebook page. When people comment that “it’s been cancelled,” please remind them that there has been no official statement that explicitly says the project has been cancelled.Įven without an official announcement, it does appear as though the project has been put on hiatus. Nonetheless, until Square Enix or NEXON releases an official announcement regarding the global release, we cannot definitively say whether or not it has been cancelled. The reason NEXON gave for the delay was due to the localization quality being “nowhere near perfect.” Please note that this was the first and currently the only statement given by NEXON regarding status of the global release. The Global Release by NEXON was due to be released on July 18, 2019, but just two days before the release, NEXON stated that it would be delaying the release.
